Here is my entry for the SCBWI draw this competition. There is some great work out there already for this new challenge.
I pen and ink with some Illustrator and Photoshop to make the final product. Below are some stops along the path.

Runner up Tomie dePaola award
This picture was a runner up for the 2013 Tomie dePaola award from SCBWI.
Here is the quote from Tomie dePaola:
“Stephen Ingram’s illustration from the Yearling was heartbreaking. I can’t imagine the reader not tearing up.”
I am very excited to receive this honor and it was incredibly fun to do the illustration. I used traditional pen and ink and Arches hot press watercolor paper.

Submission for the Tomie dePaola award. Used traditional pen and ink on hot press watercolor paper. Loved the downward motion of the strokes and tried to have everything move towards the bottom of the page by using bold strokes.
Very happy with the outcome.
