Submission for the Tomie dePaola award. Used traditional pen and ink on hot press watercolor paper. Loved the downward motion of the strokes and tried to have everything move towards the bottom of the page by using bold strokes.

I love your technique! You really shine with pen and ink. I want to see more of these characters, like maybe two more drawings, as if you were panning around them, first from the front where you would see the yearling’s head and the boy’s face and anguish and then another one from the other side.
